Snaps here

Snarls there

They will follow you everywhere

A cold draft

Please don’t be daft

A scream can be heard

As easily as the chirp of a bird

Run, run, run

Before they catch you for their fun

Quickly now, don’t waste time

If you leave now, you will be fine

If you stay

You’ll get caught in the fray(?)

A danger at every corner

Try to get somewhere warmer

They are the creatures of the cold

From the ages of old

And have returned from the caves

Ready to dig some graves

They’re filled with rage and hate

You should leave before you meet that fate

...Did you hear that?

It sounds like the wail of a cat

...They’re here

I see it, your eyes glazed with fear

I’m sorry, I can’t help anymore

You should have just left before

.

.

.

I warned you

A COLORLESS TIME

By Nash du Lux

Bland. Blank. Black and white. That's all you knew.

From the day you were born to this day, there was no color. If you looked at a rainbow, all you would see was different shades of gray, and maybe a dash of white if you were lucky. If you tried to spot the ethnicity differences between people, all you would see was a difference in shading. The world was simply black and white. The weather was always perfect, your neighbors always smiled, you never got into arguments, everyone was happy and everything was tranquil.

That is, until the sky broke.

Once the sky broke, a massacre erupted along with it. It was as though the heavens were breaking free and giving you either an opportunity or a punishment. There were bright, illuminating, breathtaking rays of phenomenal colors burst from every corner you turned. It was a beautiful apocalypse.

But it wasn't over. Next came the floods. Just as magnificent as the rays, but also just as destructive. Children were too petrified to try to rush to their guardians for aid; parents couldn’t cry for mercy if their child was taken from the waters of a new beginning; you were frozen.

As you look around, you see that you’re the only one there. No family, no friends, no neighbors, no one. Just you, standing alone and still. You start hoping, longing, and grieving all at the same time. Everything is too petrifying to even dare open your eyes. They close for what feels like a millennium, closing to what seems like the beginning of the end. But as you open them, you realize, this isn’t the armageddon you had pictured; it’s a whole new reality just waiting to be discovered.

Please check back again later to see how the story continues...

While We Leave

A Sonnet By Angelina Giron

This world bestows a beautiful new life
Brought upon us by a mother’s fond love
And a worthy man who made her his wife
To cherish her until they meet above
The child grows on its four legs at the start
Not a great view can come from down below
So they stand on two with pride in their heart
A hug to both their parents they bestow
Growing faster, they leave their parent’s nest
For they are older now independent
With their little joy gone they are depressed
The childhood gone so soon, such an instant
So cherish the moments with your loved peers
Because while we leave, parents cry real tears

Whispering Wisdom

A Sonnet By Rachel Livinal

Nature is the light in my cloud of thoughts
My eyes take a breath as the sky blasts blue
Whenever I feel the storm as it daunts
This world holds me together like it's glue

The giants fill my soul with smells of pine
My mind enclosed by dark that I unsee
They whisper to my heart as I incline
What if I’m not fine? But you are with me

The rows of endless sea of green portray
Years of growth and rebirth, from you to me
Love, loss, fear, grief all that I may convey
My tunnel will brighten, don’t you agree?

Bold dreams are restored, brave hopes replenished
My happiness unbroken as I wished

Sonnet 65

By wubbalubbadubdub

Gone is the wind, so be it thy morrow.
Undo to me what I undo to you,
For in his hands lay a crooked arrow.
Liberation is all I seek—thou shoo.
Yet when thou spew in my ear, “We’re untamed”,
All I want to do is kiss thy right hand.
Forgive me not, but I can even claim
That you, my dear, would be a guilty stand.
Gardenias and roses intrude our scene;
In all of those nightmares, I’ve come to think:
The true world for me is not one I’ve seen,
For I can see you, but just for a blink.
Thy skin so fair, thy traits so flattering.
The back of thy head, though, I had just faced
Was walking away from our only dream.
Yet mutual it was, how could you erase.
Beauty was our future, or so we thought.
And blinded by love, may I say convinced,
We were fools that tricked the other to rot.
The truth I only speak, our love was minced.
In a field of cures, we lay to concur
That a poison we are for each other.

Fall Time=Ball Time

A Sonnet By Mena Barase

All I gotta do is step back and set my feet

Don’t leave me open from the three point line

All my highlights on Twitter, that’s a retweet!

All these ankles getting broken, but not mine

Shoot my shot...SPLASH… ball goes in, crowd so loud

The way I score, Curry’s got nothing on me

Ball handling so icy, it shouldn’t be allowed

Make my layup like Kyrie, just call me Kylie

Crossover so hard, I make the defense drop

Everything goes down when it’s halftime

Practice all day, all night, no time to stop

When it is fall time, it’s also ball time

Dribbling up the court, eyes on the defense

No one can guard me, it’s just common sense

The Seven Wonders

of My World

By Naomi Parra

With an aura so bright, I was hypnotized, like a moth to a flame.
Eyes so vibrant and full of soul, it was like witnessing all of the earth's beauty coming to be.
Your flesh so tender, so sweet, all I can do is shutter.
Scent so rare, so blissful, Mother Nature is on her knees begging for mercy.
Beauty so plentiful, it will be told for eons, even when humans can no longer speak.
Brains so strong, creativity flourishing for all to see, you inspire even the most stubborn around you.
My guide, my rock, and the center of it all; for of all the things I wonder in this world is how someone like you came into the life of someone like me.
